On-Farm Collection 

Sterling offers professional on-farm collection and freezing services at a level that hasn’t been seen in the small ruminant industry. Sterling developed our freeze protocol with the ability to be mobile as an imperative consideration. With our unique freeze protocol and extender, Sterling works to maximize the number of units produced from fertile rams in a single day. This allows producers to maintain possession of their stock throughout the breeding season while also putting up high quality frozen semen. 

A on-farm collection will start at the facilities in the morning with collection of rams and bucks. We will bring a jump stand and all necessary equipment needed for the collection process. We will utilize an on-farm ewe or doe provided by the client for the collection process. At the end of the day, we will perform a post thaw evaluation at which point the client will be notified on how the day went. The client can store semen with Sterling or transfer it to their tank. We are also happy to offer your genetics through our sire catalog!
