On-Farm Collection 

Sterling Sire Services offers professional on-farm collection and freezing services at a level that hasn’t been seen in the small ruminant industry. Sterling developed its freeze protocol with the dynamic ability to be mobile. Through the utilization of our unique freeze protocol and extender, Sterling works to maximize the number of units produced by fertile rams in a single day, allowing producers to maintain possession of their stock throughout the breeding season while also producing high-quality, frozen semen. 

On-farm collection will start at the client’s facilities with the collection of the sire(s). Sterling will provide all necessary equipment for the collection process. An on-farm ewe or doe provided by the client will be utilized for the collection process. After the freeze protocol is complete, we will perform a post thaw evaluation, at which point the client will be notified on the results. The client can transfer it to their tank or store it with Sterling where we can promote your genetics through our sire catalog!
